Over many years Garth has specialised in professional indemnity insurance cases, where he has been a trusted adviser and advocate to numerous professionals and insurers alike; he has acted for lawyers, accountants, engineers, architects, valuers, real estate agents, insurance brokers and financial advisers.
Garth has advised clients and represented them in numerous Coronial Inquests and Royal Commissions; including the Royal Commissions into the Pike River Tragedy and the Canterbury Earthquakes and Coronial Inquests into the Christchurch Mosque Shootings, Whakaari White Island, the death of Folole Muliaga, the Fox Glacier Skydiving tragedy. He has appeared in many medical-related inquests, acting for organisations and individuals. Garth successfully defended a midwife in the last medical manslaughter case brought in New Zealand.
